Why this blog

Starting a dedicated website to publish my thoughts around Financial Independence and Retire Early (FIRE) has been on my mind for the last 2 years. I have been passively lurking around many FIRE forums to hear thoughts from the experts, but most of the FIRE community members are based in the US. There is very limited international presence.

I searched for FIRE in an Asian context especially of someone who lives and works in one country and but plans to go back to their home country as a part of FIRE. The challenges, social norms and pressure from society etc. are not covered.

I hope to share my experience in going through that journey with you via this blog.

So who am I?

I am a NRI (Non Resident Indian) living in Singapore in my late 30s working in the finance industry, happily married with 2 kids. My FIRE dream is to retire from my day job in the next 5 years.

My FIRE journey started 2 years ago and i am hoping that the strength of the Singapore dollar will help me fire comfortably in a nice tier 2 or 3 city/town in India.
